 Post subject: Mounting a volume as Read-only to different host

Yep, still a new guy...

I have a 3 Tera volume mounted to a file server, is there any downside to exporting it as read-only to another server so I can copy off selected chunks of it as needed? It's not a particularly busy volume.

There isn't such a thing as a read only export in 3PAR alas, I think the closest thing is to create a read only snapshot of a volume and then export the snapshot.
