Hi guys, question for those of you who manage multiple arrays. How do you keep things up to date when you need to roll out multiple patches to multiple arrays? I have around 65 arrays all over the world and need to load 5-6 patches on each to bring them up to current (Not MU updates, just the current patches for 3.2.2 MU6). Is there a way to script this in the service processor, or scp them to a location on the SP instead of all the clicking within the web interface? The amount of time to click through all of these is crazy and there has to be some way to do this repetitive work in an automated fashion. Thanks for any ideas!

HPE do push out Pxx patches to SPs automatically occasionally but I've not seen this happen for a little while. So they at least have a distribution system for bulk push outs but maybe it's broke or they got bored of that, it appeared to be a little random what they did push.

I've not seen a customer tool though, maybe they'd do something in Insight, I've not seen that but think it's at least meant to allow bulk push outs of server firmware patches etc.

I'd like to think they'd look at this as part of the whole AI data centre/predictive support concept.

There are some hidden commands (not in the CLI guides) that allow you to sideload an upgrade package and apply it.

The downside is they require the usage of the 3parcli utility, AFAIK you can't use a normal SSH session to do the file transfer part. That makes it really, really hard to run as part of automation.

Check out
Code:
 upgradesys
and it's help page.
