Good afternoon all. Our holiday change freeze is upon me and I have time to analyze our storage setup and do some future planning. Currently we have 7200c units in 3 locations that are know will hit end of support in the next 3 years or so. While I plan for that I wanted to take a look at my setup (which I inherited when I was hired about a year or so ago) and see if there is any place I can increase performance or enable some best practices we may not currently be doing.

I know HP has some resources for this but was wondering if you all have some insight or websites you could share.

For reference we use OS: 3.2.2 MU4

Any help or insight would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

It's long over due, the sticky thread with links at the top of this forum needs to be cleaned up. I will work on that.

What sorts of performance information were you looking for? Tips for high performance setups, or benchmarks?

Thanks Richard. I guess in general im looking for information on whats normal and what isnt. I hear numbers all the time but I couldnt tell you if a certain set of IOPs is good for my type of storage or not. Managing a SAN has been new(er) for me since I came on board at my current place. I also didnt set this up so its possible things may not be optimal.

Hope that makes sense.

Hi, it took us months to get some good customized info around best practice/performance.
Now we have some rules in place (customized to our systems). Still tuning them to get not that much alerting emailnotifications.
I believe in the way HPE is working on AI for 3PAR .... I've been working with Infosight and I've has a small glimp at SSMC 3.4 with detailed analytics. I do like what I've seen ! A view on how overloaded the 3PAR is with drill down function !
