Hi, I have a question regarding Remote Copy over FC.
I successfully set up sync replication between two (half config) 3par 7400 systems using two pairs of links (0:2:1, 0:2:2 and 1:2:1, 1:2:2), but replication speed was very poor due to SAN interconnect bandwidth. For testing purposes, I removed the links ending with :2. It seems to be better now.
Now it's likely that the interconnect link between the two sites will be doubled, so I'd like to re-add the previously removed links on both sites, but I get
"Link 0:2:1:3PAR-SITEB_0_2_1 is already on node 0." error both in CLI and in GUI. Is there a way to re-add my second pair of links without recreating the whole replication topology?

3par OS: 3.1.2 MU2 on both systems.

Thank you for your help.

I've seen this before, and I can't remember whether I managed to fix it myself or got HP to, it definitely required some command line intervention.

I think that even after I'd deleted the whole configuration I couldn't even create it again and was getting the same error as you are.

I wish I could remember the fix, I would suggest logging a call with HP though.

To answer my own question, this technical whitepaper specifies that prior to 3Par OS 3.1.3 only one link per node is supported. It is still unclear why the GUI allows to create non-supported setups though. :) We're going to wait for 3.1.3 then.

Thanks for your input, Davidkn.

Ah, good spot, I'll be honest, I misread your initial post and saw 7400 and didn't think about there being 4 connections but obviously you said it's only 2 nodes.

That is a lot of bandwidth though, I'm surprised anyone would need more than 16gb of bandwidth for replication?
