If you're looking for official documents, you won't find them, HP don't allow the OOB (or setup in general) to be done by end users.

Steve,

Just in case it helps since I was on a similar quest for information about the OOTB procedures... about 2 months after our initial "setup" session with the HP guys... I finally checked my system tasks... and lo and behold the OOTB stress test was hung. No performance issues or other problems, just a hung task. After running through a ton of research trying to figure out just what the test does... a talk with HP and a reboot cleared the hang.

Hello,
we have two 7400 which have hanging ootb stress on 3.1.3 MU1. The tasks were running from the installation date 2 weeks ago. We rebooted the two 3PARs using and the hanging tasks are gone.
