Hi all, we've recently updated our environment to 3.3.1 MU6 + SP 5.0.6 and have noticed that the "SP Connectivity Test" fails on the "SP Gateway test". The "Transfer Status" appears to be "Normal" according to the SP. Mar 14, 2020 7:14:37 PM Created Mar 14, 2020 7:14:37 PM Start user operation Mar 14, 2020 7:14:40 PM SP localhost test passed. Mar 14, 2020 7:14:43 PM SP public interface test passed. Mar 14, 2020 7:14:58 PM SP gateway test failed. Skipping the rest of SP connectivity tests. Mar 14, 2020 7:14:58 PM Failed: One of the connectivity test steps failed. We've reviewed the guides more than a few times and all the firewall rules look correct and in place. Possibly some missing requirement from the guides for the gateway specific test? We're assuming the "SP Gateway Test" is testing connectivitng to the gateway of the SP - possibly a ping test (ICMP) - which is allowed. Hoping someone can shed some light. Cheers Ash. |

Hi all, Just to confirm that this was due to ICMP being denied by the gateway IP of the Service Processor. Once ICMP was allowed from the SP IP to the GW IP all tests completed successfully: Mar 16, 2020 10:19:09 AM Created Mar 16, 2020 10:19:09 AM Start user operation Mar 16, 2020 10:19:12 AM SP localhost test passed. Mar 16, 2020 10:19:15 AM SP public interface test passed. Mar 16, 2020 10:19:18 AM SP gateway test passed. Mar 16, 2020 10:19:18 AM SP DNS test passed. Mar 16, 2020 10:19:18 AM NTP test finished. The SP is currently being synchronized from 192.168.201.254. Mar 16, 2020 10:19:20 AM Collection Server test passed. Mar 16, 2020 10:19:20 AM Completed ICMP to the SP GW IP isn't detailed as a firewall requirement for the SP. Interestingly there is an option when editing the "SP Configuration" to "Skip gateway validation check" but this does not stay enabled when clicking OK to save the config. The additional DNS, NTP and Collection Server tests are not attempted in the ICMP test to the SP GW IP fails. Cheers Ash. |
