We must power off a 3par 8450 AFA storage box to replace some hardware.
All VMware servers from application perspective. Box is synchronous replcated to an other 8450 3par.Most data is secondary data but also primary data is allocated.
Any help available how to make this box application ready for power off. Any nice commands to check no iops are occuring or preventing to occure?

Is this configured with Peer Persistence?

Hi Richard . No peer persistence is in place. We can consider to use our DRP procedures based on VMware SRM to failover some data stores to the other datacenter. In that case the to be powered off storage box becomes a totaly secondary box. Then we only have to stop replication during the power off and a resync afterwards. But we decided to stop all server activity. So now concentrating on how to be sure no Iops are active before starting the power off. BTW it is not a 8450 but a big 2850

You could check the vlun IOPS metric with either CLI (statvlun) or SSMC.

Also the admin tools will show how many paths from each host are logged in, so you can verify when all the hosts are shut down that way too.
