Post subject:  3Par 8200 CPG and Veeam Backups

Hi,

I have recently taken over Systems Administration work for a company using 3Par Storage Devices. (Which are all new to me)

One of the new 3Par 8200 Disk Enclosures was setup for use as our new VMFS DataStore for our vSPhere Cluster. After adding the DataStore and migrating VMs to the new DataStore our Veeam Backups on these VMs have been failing with the error

Quote:
Failed to create snapshot for LUN XXXX Error: volume has no snapshot CPG

I have confirmed that the new enclosure was added as to Storage Infrastructure in Veeam so not sure what else to look at.

Any help appreciated.

Thanks
Matthew

For anyone else that comes across this I found the solution.

After a bit more Google FU and speaking with others I was advised that I needed to add a Snapshot CPG to the Virtual Volume and to use the setvv command.

Used the showvv to get the Virtual Volume Name
Used the showcpg to get the volume snapshot space name.

Quote:
setvv -snp_cpg <showcpg_name> <showvv_name>

Now backups are working again.
