Post subject:  Tunesys vs tunenodech

What is the difference between tunesys and tunenodech ? Tunenodech works on chunklet level and no LD tuning occurs there.

Then how can I use tunenodech only ?

What are the differences between running tunesys -tunenodech and tunenodech ?

Any inputs in this regard is helpful.
Thank you.

tunesys - 1 command for everything
tunenodech - 1 command per node

tunenodech will only tune chunklets. It will only tune chunklets behind the node (ie, no tuning across nodes). It is the slowest way of doing things, but will also have the least amount of impact on the system.

tunesys will:
* balance data across nodes
* use tunenodech if capacity utilitization on some PDs are above a threshold (as tuneld prefers to have some "head room" capacity wise to run optimal)
* use tuneld to ensure that all data stored in CPG is according to CPG config and balanced according to hardware balance.

If I'm only adding disks and only want/need to redistribute chunklets behind each node pair and use dedupe/compression I will use tunenodech. For everything else, I use tunesys.
