I have a Storeserv 8400, running 3.2.2 MU2. It is not under support. I want attach a SP to it. I have the 3paradm password. I can manage it with SSMC. How can I get it attached to a service processor? It was previously attached to a SP but that SP is no longer around. When I'm trying to birth the SP it appears that you 1.) Need to have a completely out of the box 3par or 2.) You need to know the previous Service Processor id. For scenario 1 - I cant get it to the out of box state, because I dont have the password for the "console" login account. It is not the "cmp43pd" password. HPE wont help me with a temporary password. For scenario 2 - I dont know what the previous SP id was. Is there a way from the 8400 cli to determine this? Any ideas of how I can get this thing going? Reset completely to defaults would fine. Thanks! |

If this was done right the last time, the SP ID is SP+10 digit serial. If the serial number of the 3PAR is ABC1234567, then the old SP ID should have been SPABC1234567. If the system at one point was calling home, you could possibly ask HPE for the SP ID as well, but I'm guessing that is a long shot. |
