Hi,

Just thought I'd create a running log of commands I've not seen before that HPE support run when troubleshooting :

cgcmd -tc tty -C cage3 -c "report_faults" -p b

Some sort of "cage command", looks like it interrogates the controllers in drive cages.
Output some good info, found the drive shelf was complaining about low temperature warnings (it was "degraded" in SSMC but no reason as to why found in the GUI, so logged a case)

Anyone else have some interesting commands ?

Those commands on the 7000/8000 interact with the Xyratex CLI.
There is some additional detailed hardware diagnostics HPE support can do.

Yes, this commands communicate directly to HW. In most cases you do not need to do so.

For lovers of CLI, here is command from first post edited to InformOS CLI.
Code:
tcli -e "jt tty -n cage3 -c "report_faults" -p b"

I propose using this commands only on LAB units, trying commands without documentation on production... ;-)
