Post subject:  Procedure for Node Replacement

Hello

We are facing problems with 3par 7200 where the node 0 is missing from the storage. Checking logs and there is an information about the internal node drive failure and after that the node went offline.

We got this error when we tried to put a new node in slot:

Class : Alert
Severity : Major
Type : Link Configuration Mismatch
Component: hw_node:0
Message : Node 0 SSN Mismatch expected SSN 19caa1 from node 0 got message from SSN 19caf6

We can't use the internal drive of the old node and we can't use the new node and now I need to know what must be done to get the node replacement?

Can you help me about the procedure?

Thanks

This is documented in the 3PAR 7000 service and upgrade guide.

However from what I can see is that your problem is most likely where you've sourced the parts from (ie, this is not a spare part but a fully functional node yanked from another system with configuration).

Hi, if you get spare node from another system, them you have to fix settings in whack interface.

Use CTRL+W to enter WHack durring system startup (there are two, one early and second where are available commands u need). You have to be connected via serial console.
In WHack are several commands, for ex. edit PROM by `prom edit` command - chnage system serial to match and also ensure node id is 0. Them you can initiate node rescue.
