Post subject:  3PAR 8200/8200/8440 Xeon Processors

I was watching my 3PAR 8400 boot today and noticed the cpu model.
I always thought the 8400 had a better cpu than the 8200.
[ 1.206814] CPU0: Intel(R) Xeon(R) CPU E5-1428L v2 @ 2.20GHz stepping 04

Does anyone know the model of CPU used in the 3PAR 8440 then?

If you look at the Quickspecs:
https://h20195.www2.hpe.com/v2/GetDocum ... =c04607918

you can see that 8200 and 8400 have the same node specs. I think it was the same for 7200c and 7400c as well (7200/7400 it was a difference).

Based on quickspecs and specs on Intel CPUs I'm guessing Xeon E5-2470 v2 for 8440/8450.

8200 and 8400 is essentially the same nodes.

Output for an 8200 and 8400 :

---------------------------Node 0 CPU 0----------------------------
Node ID : 0
CPU ID : 0
Manufacturer : GenuineIntel
Model : 62 (Intel(R) Xeon(R) CPU E5-1428L v2 @ 2.20GHz)
Serial Number : --
Family : 6
Stepping : 4
CPU Speed(MHz) : 2194
Bus Speed(MHz) : 100.00

This is an 8440 :

---------------------------Node 0 CPU 0---------------------------
Node ID : 0
CPU ID : 0
Manufacturer : GenuineIntel
Model : 62 (Intel(R) Xeon(R) CPU E5-2470 v2 @ 2.40GHz)
Serial Number : --
Family : 6
Stepping : 4
CPU Speed(MHz) : 2394
Bus Speed(MHz) : 100.00

RAM is also vastly different :

8200 and 8400:
Node Slot SlotID -Name-- -Usage- ---Type--- --Manufacturer--- -Serial- -Latency-- Size(MB)
0 CC_0.0 J1800041 DIMM0.0 Control DDR3_SDRAM Micron Technology 11689A3F CL5.0/11.0 8192
0 CC_1.0 J1900041 DIMM1.0 Control DDR3_SDRAM Micron Technology 11689B12 CL5.0/11.0 8192
0 DC_0.0 J140005 DIMM0.0 Data DDR3_SDRAM Micron Technology 11689A3E CL5.0/11.0 8192
0 DC_1.0 J160005 DIMM1.0 Data DDR3_SDRAM Micron Technology 11689A3D CL5.0/11.0 8192

8440:
Node Slot SlotID -Name-- -Usage- ---Type--- --Manufacturer--- -Serial- -Latency-- Size(MB)
0 CC_0.0 J1800041 DIMM0.0 Control DDR3_SDRAM Smart Modular 015139C7 CL5.0/9.0 32768

Hello markinnz, thank you for reply, would you please post result of this command on 8440 'shownode -svc -i' so we can see also part numbers on used RAM. Thanks.
