Hello everybody, One question: We actually have 94% of SSD raw space allocated --> warning message ! We created 5 VVs tdvv (used for Datastore Vmware) on our only one CPG (raid6) At storage level each VV are not full, but used about 40-50% of space (good dedup). Of course Vmware isn't aware of this efficiency, for example a datastore x consume 9To on 15To at Vmware level, but at Storage level this VV consume only 4 To on 15To. As it remain 6% of free raw ssd space, if needed how can create now a new VV (for example for a new Vmware datastore) of 10To, the system won't permit that, but my real data consumption is about 50% I hope my explanation is clear Thanks for you reply Best regards Speedypizz

Sounds like you only have 6% raw space free in the array, this isn't a good place to be especially if none of the VMFS volumes are full because they can continue to eat up that 6% regardless of you creating any new volumes. The term 'allocatated' in relation to raw space on 3PAR typically means the space that has been given to write actual data from host writes, after dedupe, compression and thin savings. Not the provisioned space which is the total size of all the Volumes as the hosts see. I suspect you're going to need to do some quick house keeping and probably look at additional disks.

If you re using Esx try to launch command 'esxcli storage vmfs unmap -l "VOLUME"' on it in order to clear thin-zero-provisioned. Regards Ju
