Hi all, Just wondered if anybody on here had some real world performance figures of what there getting backing up from a VMWare 6.5/6.7 enviroment on a HPE 3PAR to a HPE Storeonce 5100? Just curious as to if ours is running as expected or if there is an issue in the environment somewhere. Backups seem to be taking us quite a while to complete. Many Thanks |

My experience is that you need multiple threads towards StoreOnce to get any real performance.... and physical veeam proxies. |

We run VM Explorer to backup from 3PAR to StoreOnce as we have a Hyper-v environment (without SCVMM). The fundamentals work ok (3PAR snapshot etc) but the speed is very slow, it was even slower with Jumbo frames enabled on the backup VLAN (Could be a VM Explorer software issue though) I think our main issue is the speed of the VM Explorer software reading changes on the disk, it doesn't do CBT as far as I know which means it takes forever to determine what to backup. We will be implementing MS SQL backups to StoreOnce using the plugin soon, so will see if there are any speed issues there. The dedupe is phenomenal though, currently sitting at a ratio of 6:1 |

Are you running to a Catalyst store on the Storeonce? |

Hi. We do a full 10TB backup of our production cluster in around 9 hours. using a store once 5100, and a 3par 7200. |
