I don't see the 3.4 administrator guide yet and after deploying the OVF it is asking for a SSMC password - anyone know what the default user and pass is?

See links below:

Release notes: https://support.hpe.com/hpsc/doc/public ... 53600en_us

Admin guide: https://support.hpe.com/hpsc/doc/public ... 53598en_us

I read in the release notes there some sort of migration procedure to follow if you want to transfer over settings. Post back and let us know if 3.4 is safe to upgrade to :)

Have Installed Yesterday a 3.4 with migration tool from 3.3 on ESX vCenter.
And today a 3.4 as fresh Install.
Both working smooth and I think faster.
Infosight Integration need Proxy, did not find a point to enter a DNS Server.
Ssmcadmin password is set during the Setup, or migrated from 3.3 with the Tool.
Analytics and Advanced Analytics is also working.
See no problems and you can use the old 3.3 and new 3.4 both.

I decided to go for it and did a migration from 3.3.1 to 3.4 without issue. I didn't have much except a few reports and they came over.

I used a temporary IP and then powered off my windows vm so I could change the IP of the appliance to match my original one. I had to reboot to clear old IP and have it take the new one (maybe didnt' have to reboot but was easiest option at the time)

Appliance does seem to be faster.

For DNS, I didn't see it either but it's in the admin guide on page 63. You need to go via CLI to set NTP and DNS server. I just set one of each as it wasn't clear if you can set multiple.

I looked through the guides and didn't see any references as to what HPE URLs SSMC accesses. We have to make exceptions in the FW, so I'm not going to just open up the server to the whole internet. Anybody know?

Doh, I deployed the ESXi OVF and not the VC one, so it didn't prompt for the password and network config at the time of import. I blew it away and re-deployed.
That's what I get for trying to deploy software before the admin guide is published... I'll let you guys know how it goes once it is all imported etc

Usually there's a bit more information needed. As an example the Service Processor contact to HPE looks like this:

HTTPS - 443 access
storage-support.glb.itcs.hpe.com - DNS name which resolves to:
storage-support1.itcs.hpe.com (16.248.72.63) or
storage-support2.itcs.hpe.com (16.250.72.82)

Is anyone able to get advanced analytics on an 8200 to work? I've got an 8200 and 8440 in SSMC (both all flash, both on 3.3.1 MU2 + patches).

The 8440 seemed to work right away. The 8200 isn't showing any advanced analytics and the saturation/performance chart doesn't show up.

I opened a case but it's going nowhere slowly.
