Trying to help peers in our lab get the 3par 7200 back up and working. It now able to be logged into via UI but one of the controllers is not booting (flashing amber light). Errors .. besides the license ones... #### Id : 6737 State : Resolved by System Message Code: 0x02d00fa Time : 2018-09-19 12:05:19 EDT Severity : Major Type : Component state change Component : hw_cage:1,hw_cage_ifc:0 Message : Cage 1, Interface Card 0 Failed (Interface Card Unknown {0x406}) Fixed by : Time : 2018-09-19 12:05:37 EDT Severity : Informational Type : Component state change Component : hw_cage:1,hw_cage_ifc:0 Message : Cage 1, Interface Card 0 Normal Id : 6735 State : New Message Code: 0x02d00fa Repeat Count: Occurred 2 times, first at 2018-09-19 12:00:10 EDT Time : 2018-09-19 12:05:49 EDT Severity : Major Type : Component state change Component : hw_cage:0,hw_cage_ifc:0 Message : Cage 0, Interface Card 0 Failed (Interface Card Unknown {0x406}) Id : 6736 State : New Message Code: 0x02d00fa Repeat Count: Occurred 2 times, first at 2018-09-19 12:00:43 EDT Time : 2018-09-19 12:06:14 EDT Severity : Major Type : Component state change Component : hw_cage:0,hw_cage_ifc:1 Message : Cage 0, Interface Card 1 Failed (Interface Card Warning {0x403}) 17 alerts 72001 cli% ## My guess after doing this for a few years is 1) is battery on planer ok 2) is Cache battery ok. Their is no data on this controller, so to wipe and rebuild is fine... just can't yet... find the commands.. though repair is always a good skill to know and use. |

hi, the interface card is installed on the node. it will show failed/unknown until the node boots up and joins. does the node show listed in "shownode"? if it is failed, or not showing at all. a console to the failed node would be beneficial, after reseating it for boot up process. any number of issues can stop the node from coming online. this is all based on you stating its a lab array with no important data? do you have an hpe support contract? ive repaired node config mismatch issues using some commands at the "whack" prompt of a failed node, but they can be any number of things, including a hardware fault on that node. not much you can do about a hw fault. |
