hi to all

I've 3par 7200 with cage 1 and 3par 8400

7200
HPE 3PAR OS version 3.3.1.269 (MU1)+P09,P11,P18,P19,P21,P25
8400
HPE 3PAR OS version 3.3.1.269 (MU1)+P09,P11,P18,P19,P21,P25

service processor
5.0.3.0-24806


I want dismiss cage 1 from 3par 7200 and connect this cage to 3par 8400

But I dont know, how to do it

in http://hpe.com/info/storage/docs not found any docs how do it

any ideas ?

Not the same backend, so you might want to do this, but it will most likely not work.

As MammaGutt said it's not the same backend.
7000 cages have SAS port but 8000 cages have mini-SAS ports.

Your 7000 enclosure is a M6710 (or M6720 if LFF)
8000 uses H6Z26A/H6Z27A enclosures

Even the 7xxx drives are not supported in the 8xxx platform due to the switch from 6GB SAS to 12GB SAS connectivity. HPE does offer a service where they can move certain 6GB SSDs to 12GB carriers and re-certify but it is really designed for very large installs, like folks who bought all-SSD 10800s and want to move to 20800s etc.

You might hit up your sales guy, but possibly getting an enclosure and some drives from Renew is more practical
