Hello Everyone.
We need to change replication type on pair of our 3par 7200 arrays. Now they are working on asynchronous IP replicaion. We are going to connect them directly with FC links and switch to FC sync replication. But there is a lot of data already replicated and we would like (for some) time have both methods (some groups with IP and some with FC) working. Is it possible? Firmware level 3.2.2 MU6. At this point SSMC won't allow to do that, but I cannot (yet) switch FC ports to RCFC mode (host directly connected now to all 6 FC ports on both controllers)

You need to configure a new target (two targets between the same pair of 3PARs).

Also, just a tip, read about the -keepsnap option when you are migrating from IP to FC. That will prevent full resync.

Can You be more specific how this can be done? When I will switch last FC port info RCFC mode, I will probably see them in Add Link page. But can they be used as third and fourth link? That would mix fc replication traffic with ip traffic so probably it is not possible.
I'm looking for the way how to keep existing IP replication working and set few new groups with FC replication.

You need to look at the FC replication as a totally seperate replication. In all configuration it is the same as a replication to a totally different array.

As you already mentioned you cannot combine different port types (RCIP/RCFC/FCIP) in the same remote copy config. Equally you cannot mix sync and async on the same RC config/target.
