I got the following email about a failed card. When I did what the message said, 'showcage', everything is reporting as fine. In SSMC I show that event as resolved by system about a minute after it was triggered. The array is an 8440 running 3.3.1 MU2. Is this anything to be worried about? Event description: 3PAR StoreServ Cage IFC State Change -----------------------Event Message------------------------ Interface Card 1;Cage 1 Failed (Interface Card Firmware Unknown {0x0}) ---------------------Corrective Action---------------------- Description: The cage interface card specified in the alert has failed. Resolution: Use CLI command 'showcage' to confirm condition. Replace card if necessary. For instructions on how to 1) identify the failed component and the replacement part number; 2) order a new part; and 3) perform the replacement, see the following resources: • Search for the HPE 3PAR StoreServ xxxx Storage Service Guide available from http://www.hpe.com/support • The HPE Service Media Library: available at http://www.hpe.com/support/sml-csr --------------------------Abstract-------------------------- (Major)CAGE1,IFC1 FAILED (Interface Card Firmware Unknown {0x0}) Cage 1, Interfa ----------------------------Text---------------------------- Event ID: 935520 Node 0 Customer Alert - Yes, Service Alert - Yes Severity: Major Event time: Mon Jul 09 00:40:29 2018 Event type: Cage IFC State Change Alert ID: 32 Msg ID: 2d00fa Component: Cage 1, Cage IFC 1 Event string: Cage 1, Interface Card 1 Failed (Interface Card Firmware Unknown {0x0}) Notification key: 2d00xx |

I also received this same error over the weekend, and it was also resolved by the system. My patch level is: 3.3.1.410 (MU2)+P30,P32 |

Sorry for late reply. You might have resolved it by now? |
