disclaimer - new to this stuff so go on easy  My system: HP blade c7000 3PAR C8200 12 bays populated with disks. 2X FlexFabric-20/40 F8 Module If i'm right my sytem support's direct attach (aka Flat SAN) .  8200 have two nodes (controllers) what's for ? Do i need to use node1 or only node0 if i have only 12 bays populated? And last q, I need to connect both FC1 AND FC2 from 8200 module to X1 and X2 on flexfabric module?

I would connect both nodes to both FlexFabric. Node0 - > X1 on both modules Node1 - > X2 on both modules. That way, if node0 fails, you still have both "fabrics" If node1 fails you still have both "fabrics". If bay1 FlexFabric fails you still have connections to btoh nodes and the same for bay2. |

So, obviusly next question is how am i going to connect flexfabric to my network. I assume Q1-Q4 ports on both flexfabric modules are for that. As far i know my network works with 1/10G SFP. guys that sold us equipment told this : "2 ports per module would be for Ethernet (LACP 2 from the first module + LACP 2 ports from the second module to the "Core" switches)" So again, i will be very thankful if someone could give me clarification on this. How many ports on both flexfabric do i need to populate and why? |

How many ports on both flexfabric do i need to populate and why? How big is a wheel? You only need one cable from one module. Anything above that is only to improve performance and/or redundancy. Most setups I see tend to do what your sales guy said, 2x from each module. |
