Post subject:  Anybody successful wit SP RDA connection type?

Hi,

did anybody change the sp connection type from ssa to rda and did succeed?

We tried with a shiny new pair of 3PARs (which means the sps came with rda instead of ssa enabled).

Our findings:
In rda-mode both sps are unable to achieve a successful proxy-authentication. With ssa, this works without any problems.
In rda-mode, even before proxy-authentication, the sps try to contact targets that are not in the list of required, allowed targets in the SP 5.0 User Guide.
Even after switching back to ssa, the call home and remote support feels/works unstable and unreliable (compared to our other 20+ 3PAR systems). As if the enabled hpepartner-user and our attempts with rda altered something in the sp that isn't taken back by switching back to ssa.

Does anybody have similar problems?

What port is your proxy running? I had an issue with a proxy which for some reason was configured on port 80 (not 8080). Logged a case and figured out that it was a known issue.

Hi MammaGutt,

Proxy is at 8080.

If proxy config was a problem, all other 20+ 3PARs (living in the same vlan, using the same proxy, proxy user and pw) would have problems as well.

We tried working with url wildcards (like *.houston.hpe.com, it-sec loves that...), but with rda, after unsuccessful (!) proxy authentication, the sps try to contact urls that are denied/not in the list/not included even with wildcards.
