I have a question about VMware & 3PAR Virtual Copy I'm struggling to find an answer to;
We have a development program on-going and the dev's want multiple copies of some VM's to speed up delivery.
These VM's are Windows based some with SQL and all have VMware Thick provisioned VMDK's on a VMware Datastore mounted on a thin 3PAR volume.
Instead of cloning the VM's in VMware would it be possible to take a 3PAR virtual copy of the volume containing the VMware datastore and therefore having a r/w snapshot of the datastore and all the VM's which can be mounted in VMware?
Obviously a little tweaking of the VM's would be required before they can be started. i.e. name, ip address etc
Thanks.
