seems like there is some other patches for 331MU2 that i've been asked to deploy,
their summary is below

P30 - improve drive handling errors
P32 - provides several critical quality improvements
P34 - delivers quality improvement for FW Cage for 9450 & 20000 Series
P38 - provides quality improvement for consistency check and vv removal

has anybody deployed any of them ?

If anyone is planning to do MU2 P35 (drive firmware), I would skip it. I was just told the patch is being recalled and will be replaced by a new one.

This is the findings after opening a case a couple weeks ago about an error that came up the day after it was applied on my system. I'm told it doesn't affect anything and I can ignore the error. I guess that's the silver lining on my little 3par cloud? :)

FYI P37 seems to be the replacement.

I've done P30 and then a little while later did the P32 and P38 (didn't do P34 since don't have a 9450/20000) . Haven't noticed any issues.

I went through an upgrade of a 20450 to 3.3.1 MU2 earlier today, with P30, P32, P34, and P38 applied. For us, they held back P37 due to unspecified issues with the latest firmware for DOPx drives.

Drive firmware patches have often been conditional in the past so not always installed (typically done if you have drives with a major fix in the patch).

Our recent 9450s have P32 P34 P37 (replaces P35) & P40 (replaces P30/P38), however no DOPx drives and the update was done by the installer not HPE support.

There's also another drive firmware update around (P42) which needs P30 & P37 but doesn't seem to have public release notes yet.

I'm curious about this too. I have an update scheduled next week for P40, P41 and P45.

Any issues that might cause me to abort the update?

For P41 which is a cage firmware update I think, can it be done live? From what I read it seems like it will do a rolling update so just partially degraded for a few minutes while the update happens?

HPE support installed yesterday the patches P41, P42 and P45 on our 3par 8200.
The update was online, non-disruptive and we had no issues.
The cage firmware update took only a few minutes, with no impact on performance.
I hope this firmware is now stable, the release frequency of these patches is quite high.

Hi All,

Any thoughts or experience on upgrading 7xxx to 3.3.1?

Still wandering, should I or stay at 3.2.2

Thx!
