If you run "showencryption -d" it will give you info on encryption and then it will list all the drives that do NOT support encryption.
Use that info in conjunction with "showpd" and you can see which of your drives support encryption.

Ok, thanks. No disks SED Found.

I have a doubt. My 3PAR fw
- OS Version: 3.1.2 (MU2)
- HP 3PAR Management Console: 4.7.0.20

i think this problem is related about this.

Do you have a firmware listing about the HP 3par 10000 ?

Ok, thanks. No disks SED Found.

I have a doubt. My 3PAR fw
- OS Version: 3.1.2 (MU2)
- HP 3PAR Management Console: 4.7.0.20

i think this problem is related about this.

Do you have a firmware listing about the HP 3par 10000 ?

1. You have no SEDs in your system. SEGLE0600GBFC15K is not a SED.
2. You're mentioning a lot of different versions (both Inform/3PAR OS and IMC). 3.1.2 was End of Support/Server Life in 2016, 3.2.1 MU2 in July 2015, IMC in general is also EoSL. Current recommended version for 3PAR 10k is 3.2.2 MU6 and SSMC as management tool. So your software is not the problem in this case, but could be/become a problem in other cases.

If you don't have an active support contract, you are not entitled to a software upgrade according to the EULA for 3PAR OS. Upgrading a 3PAR system without an active support contract would be similar to software piracy and I'm pretty sure that this forum doesn't support those kinds of activity.

But to be honest, I don't really see what your problem is. You don't have any physical SED (Self Encrypting Drives) and the 3PAR is stating that you don't have any SEDs. The customer advisory you refer to shows that there was a known cosmetic bug in an older IMC version, but that is just what it is ... cosmetic.

Quote:
RESOLUTION
A resolution for this issue will be available in a future release of HP 3PAR Management Console.

Workaround
When no self-encrypting drives are present in the storage system, this error can be safely ignored.

I dont intend to do piracy, just to consult, because I know that I need to update the FW of 3par, and there were problems in other 3par storages in other clients, for not having made an update. Thanks

Then you need to have a talk with your boss :)

The only legal way to upgrade the 3PAR OS is an active support contract. Included in that contract you have the actual upgrade task from a remote team. If you want someone local to do it or need help with the prep work, all authorized 3PAR partners and HPE provide this as a service for a fee as long as you have an active contract. For 7k and 8k, "everyone" can do it, but 10k (and legacy) is HPE and authorized 3PAR partners only.
