Hi everyone,
there is a way to have an history of when a Remote Copy Group sync start and when it finish?

Example:
i have a Remote Copy Group with the sync set to start at 08:00 and 18:00.
i want to know how much time it take to finish in every start time in a selected day, to have a statistical average of the time needed to complete the sync

Thanks for your support.

The only way I know of is if you have the 3PAR Management Console click on the tasks button on the left column. Then on the right pane click the tasks tab. From there you can fiddle with the options to find the Remote copy tasks that ran. If you click on one in the lower pane of the box you will see the start and stops as well as the data sent in each.

An example from mine looks like:

2018-03-13 11:10:27 CDT Startup adding resync of volume Storage1 in group XXXXX to target SAN-3PAR-XXXX to the synchronization list.
2018-03-13 11:10:27 CDT Started resync of volume Storage1 (offset 0MB length 16777216MB) in group XXXXX to target SAN-3PAR-XXXXXX has started.(sync_vol: rcpy.1.4.1.1/6900 resync_vol: rcpy.1.4.1/6898.)
2018-03-13 11:46:22 CDT Completed sync of volume Storage1(rcpy.1.4.1) in groupXXXXX to target SAN-3PAR-XXXXXXX has completed, 24939MB of 16777216MB transmitted.

Hope this may help you. Like I said its the only way I know.

Bit of a round about way to achieve what you need:

1. Use statrcopy command which gives below output for each group:

Name Target Status Role Mode Options
LTCADC1.NProject LTCHPDRSAN Started Primary Periodic Last-Sync 2018-04-04 14:03:21 IST, Period 10m,auto_recover,over_per_alert
LocalVV ID RemoteVV ID SyncStatus LastSyncTime
prd.ltcadc1.nproject.vv 444 prd.ltcadc1.nproject.R.vv 2 Synced 2018-04-04 14:04:12 IST

2. Store this in a text file
3. Process this text file to extract "LastSyncTime" value
4. Use batch and repeat 1-3 as required

I use this method along-with showtask output to record and know statistics of data transferred as well as RPO.

Hope this helps !
