Hello, in my environment I have two hostset , hostset1 has 4 hosts and hostset2 has 2 hosts. Now I want to move one Host from hostset1 to hostset2 , both are in production. I already remove one host from hostset1 it worked good. Now I would like to know if I have any risk to add on hostset2, without lose nothing.

It all depends on how your VVs are exported.

If you remove a host from a hostset, it will lose access to VVs that were exported to that hostset, but keep VVs that were exported directly to the host.

If you add a host to a hostset, it will gain access to VVs that are exported to the hostset, BUT take care to check to see if there are any VV's already exported to the host, and compare the LUN# of the existing exports vs what LUN#s it will try to map when its added to a host set.

Example:

VLUN Template1 = Export VV1 to Host1 as LUN#0
VLUN Template2 = Export VV2 to Host1 as LUN#1
VLUN Template3 = Export VV4 to HostSet1 as LUN#1

You can get an undesired result if you add host1 to hostset1 because LUN#1 would conflict. It's been awhile since I tested this, and it was IMC at the time, not SSMC... If I recall correctly, the IMC preventented the host from being added to the hostgroup until the conflict was resolved.
