Post subject:  FilePersona Block Mode PersonaProfile

HPE has introduced a new PersonaProfile that depending on how your array is configured you made need to change each nodes mode from "block-only" to block-preferred" As of today this process is undocumented so I thought I would share it with everyone.

When running "startfs -enable" you receive the following:
"File Persona cannot be configured while the system is set to block-only mode. Please contact HPE Support for assistance."

You verify that the license is present (showlicense)

Preform the following steps:
1. showsys -param
- at the bottom you will see "PersonaProfile : block-only"
2. shownode -PersonaProfile
- This will show you that the block-perferred setting on each of the nodes is set to "block-only"
3. setsys PersonaProfile block-preferred
4. showsys -param
- you will now see that the "PersonaProfile" has been changed to "block-preferred" If you check the nodes again you will see that they are all still set to "block-only" Reboot each of the nodes to enable the setting.
5. shutdownnode reboot <node#>
- Use the "shownode" command to verify that the node is online before continuing tot he next node.
6. shownode -PersonaProfile
- you will now see that the block-perferred policy is now set to block-perferred on all of the nodes.

I tried to turn it on today but looks like there are some restrictions becuase of CPU contention.

8400 cli% setsys PersonaProfile block-preferred
Error: File Persona cannot be used in conjunction with Compression or Asynchronous Remote Copy on HPE_3PAR 8400 series systems.
