Hi,

Does anyone use HP Storage Essentials to query the 3Par cimserver?
I'm using it against 2.3.1 MU4 & 3.1.1 MU1 & 2 but we've run into various problems with the cimserver which 3Par are trying to fix.

Would be interested in other peoples experiences and whether there are any common views on enhancement requests.

Regards,

David

I've attempted to query the cimserver with some 3rd party tools, but never could get it to work, I always ran in to failed authentication issues.

Many of the storage monitoring vendors seem to lag behind with regards to XIV/Compellent/3par, I think the wide striping of raid arrays blows their mind.

NetApp SANScreen does a pretty good job of pulling configuration data out of the 3par and displaying it properly in relation to host LUNs and ESX datastores/Guest luns, however it doesn't do 3PAR performance yet.

What version of storage essential (SE) are you running?

I'm running SE 9.5.1.200 on linux and able to collect data from 3.1.1 MU1 and 3.1.1 P06

Collecting data is working, but I'm not able to run reports from HPSE's Reporter tool.

Running 3.1.1 MU2 and HPSE 9.5.1-200.
