Hello,
after a disk failed and was replaced, the new drive got a new ID. Is there a way to move the new disk back from drive id 40 to drive id 15?

I don't believe so, it's never been an issue for us... PD IDs flow like water on our older T800s.

Is there a technical reason you need this?

Hello,
I see. There is no technical reason. I was just curious if it is possible.

Cheers,
Thomas

Future installed or replacements may be assigned the old ID but as all replacements need a different ID for the rebuild stage this would always happen. As Richard says it's by design and not to worry. :)
