Hello folks,

Is there an 'ideal' ratio on the number of SSD, FC and NL disks in a 3PAR system? I think that with AO enabled, probably 70% of capacity should come from NL, 25% from FC and 5% from SSD.

Any thoughts?

Ron that sounds like a feasible starting point to me, but everyone's requirements and planned use will vary, and then the complex rules of building a 3PAR weigh in on top of that (min # of magazines per shelf, max number of SSD per controller pair, etc).

Some that have caught me unaware:
Minimum of 2 magazines per 40 disk shelf. (something about terminating the loops, mag pos 0 and 9)
Minimum of 2 magazines per drive type, per node pair (ie, 2 mags of SSD minimum per node pair)
