Hi,

We have an 8200 array with only SSD. We have several TDVV we would like to use RemoteCopy on, with an 7400 array as target. The array also uses AO.

When i try to create a remote copy group, the guide fails, because the target uses AO. I tried disabling AO, but this just creates another error because target cpg isn't SSD and therefore can't use dedup.

Are RemoteCopy and TDVV to non dedup capable arrays not supported ?

Without seeing your view and knowing what you are doing I'm guessing you are trying to create the replicated volume as dedupe as well. And that isn't possible if selecting an AO CPG.

Using RC to replicate a dedupe volume to a non-dedupe volume is to my knowledge supported.

I don't want the target to be a dedup volume. How do you select that it shouldn't try to create the target as dedup ?

Do not Auto-Create the Volume on the Secondary.
Create the Volume Manual at the Secondary Site and link them together.
If you use PeerPersitence create it with the same Volume ID.
