HostSet_01-10 ( Host01,Host02,...,Host10)
HostSet_11-12 ( Host11,Host12).

VVSet_01 has HostSet_01-10 configured with 105 luns.

In which 6 luns are assigned to HostSet_11-12 manually & moved to VVSet_01 to visible on HostSet_01-10.

I need to move/add the Host11,Host12 to HostSet_01-10 & remove the HostSet_11-12.

Can i do this with out down time for the 6 luns assigned to HostSet_11-12.

My Action Plan is :
1) Edit VVSet_01 & remove 6 luns.
2) Un-export 6 luns from HostSet11-12.
3) Edit Hostset01-11 & add host11,host12.
4) Move the 6 luns to VVSet_01 , so that it will be visible to Hosts01-12.

Is there any other way achive the above action plan.

I would do steps 3 & 4 first, thus adding more paths to the existing LUNs on Host11 & 12, and presenting the 6 new LUNs to Host01-10.

Then once I have checked with showvlun –host < Host11 & 12> that these 6 LUNs are visible to both servers (under two different LUN numbers) and checked on Host11 & 12 that they can see an additional path to the same LUNs, I would remove the presentation of the 6 LUNs from HostSet_11-12 (with removevlun –f [options] <VV> <LUN#> HostSet_11-12).

Finally, after checking again that the 6 VLUNs are presented to all Host01-12 (via showvlun) and are still visible on Host01-12, but now with one less path than before on Host11 & 12 (via the OS), you can remove HostSet_11-12.

I am assuming that there are NO other LUNs presented to Host11 & 12 using HostSet_11-12.

The only issue might be is 11 and 12 are already using SCSI IDs that conflict with same volumes on 1-10 then you will not be able to to just move 11-12 into 1-10 without removing the conflicting volumes from 11-12 which would likely require a downtime depending on what Os you are dealing with. If the host Os does not care about SCSI ID numbers then you can double present the 11-12 volumes back to 11-12 with IDs that do not conflict, then un-export the VLUNS that conflict.
