Hey there,

I cannot find any documentation for this scenario and wanted to double check. Basically, we have a host with 6 HBAs configured. 2 for Boot, 2 for Production Data, and 2 will be taken by Hyper-V for Direct SAN to the VMs. In the 3Par Management Console, if we wanted to separate the traffic from boot and production, would I create separate hosts for each HBA set? In this case it would look like:

Host1Boot (011, 111, 012, 112)*
Host1Prod (211, 311, 313, 312)*
* For Persistent Ports

Or does 3Par not support that and would rather have all traffic coming from one set of HBAs touching all nodes?

Why on gods green earth would you spend ~$2000 per host for dedicated boot hba's? All you need to do is assign the boot volume as lun 1 on the production HBA.

There is absolutely no reason to have this setup, so I dount its documented anywhere.

Should work as you've put though, but I honestly can't see the point.
