I setup a bunch of AO tasks with the tickbox "Analyze Only" thinking I could monitor them for a few weeks and then edit them and remove the ticks, but seems I can only edit the schedule, not the actual AO task where you set this option and the analysis period etc.

Is there any way to change this or do I have to delete and recreate the tasks from scratch?

Delete and recreate.

If you do it from the CLI and do ashowshed first you should be able to pretty much copy and paste the bits you need when running createsched, I think that's the easiest way
