password eight characters limit

Hi.

I have a new 3par 7200 machine, and am trying to change the default password for 3paradm.
I found that the new password is limitted to eight characters and I was not able to put a longer one.

Is there a way to provide longer password?

No and I have escalated this to HP, not a very secure system with 8 character password.

This is supposed to be changed in 3.1.3 or 3.2 coming out later this year.
