Hello,
we have two 3PAR 8200 configured as transparent failover, with 16 G9 HPE Blades running fully patched ESX 6.0 U3 (we tried both vanilla and HPE image) connected via FC. When we reinstall the systems and hook them up to the storage, everything is fine, but as soon as we enable HA with datastore heartbeating, we get the following log messages if we reboot all 16 ESX Servers at the same time:

Quote:
Jul 26 11:36:00 ip vmkernel: cpu23:34825 opID=9e7eba2b)WARNING: FSAts: 1498: Denying reservation access on an ATS-only vol 'datastore'

Disabling HA, datastore heartbeating in the UI, or using the cli paramter:
Quote:
esxcli system settings advanced set -i 0 -o /VMFS3/UseATSForHBOnVMFS5

does _not_ help. We raised a ticket with HPE. Once all ESX Servers are rebooted the datastores pop up after a few minutes. In the vSphere client only after we click on 'update' in the datastore view. Any ideas or pointers? I'll keep updating this thread as soon as I have new information available.

Cheers,
Thomas

FC driver/FW issue? What HBA are you using?

As stated, feels like a driver/fw issue
