3PAR OS 3.3.1 MU1 is released
Still under monitored release, and I have the impression HPE will limit installations until the have a certain running hours.
Any takers? Pre production/stage 3PARs?
Keeping the thread to track experiences and issues.

Re: 3PAR OS 3.3.1 is GA
My impression is that one of the main things with the monitored (or previously controlled) release was to prioritize customers which have the need for either new features or has hit severe bugs to ensure that they are "allowed to cut in line".

We ordered a new 8450 to replace 2x T800s. 12 floor tiles of hardware condensing down to 8U.
I believe it will come shipped with 3.2.2 but the installer will have instructions to load 3.3.1 upon power up sometime this month.

There is a min. set of Run Time Hours on Customer Site, to see if there are Problems.
Testing in the Lab is not the same as in Real World.
Only if the set Time is over and there are no Problems it goes in Public.
Not only IOS Bugs, 3.3.1 need also SSMC 3.1 and SP 5.0.
Interesting is also if there are Problems during the Upgrade Process of all these Software Peaces.
Every Customer have the ability to Register for the GA.
The Major of my Customers don't like to attend.

I was surprised to see that it's being released for 7k/10k as well as 8k/20k.
3.2.1emu3 is now inactive too, going to have to accelerate my 3.2.2mu4 updates, not that HPE have any resource to do the updates.

Then you'll first need to be registered and approved for the monitored release for the upgrade to take place, so I'd get that process underway now to avoid disappointment.

FYI Looks like HPE just posted all the usual 3PAR docs with 3.3.1 updates.

Re: 3PAR OS 3.3.1 is GA
Hi All,
We just received a new 8200 2N unit and it has come shipped with 3.2.2 (MU4), although it's possible it updated during the setup wizard.
I am wondering how I can go about registering for the 3.3.1 release?
Management want this unit to be put into production as soon as possible but I'd like to update it to 3.3.1 and test it out with the "Advanced Data Reduction" features prior to putting it into production.
Any advice would be great.
Cheers,
Ben.

You need to contact your HPE team, from there the HPE Presales / SA can register the systems Serial No for monitored release.
