I' intrigued by the upcoming Infosight integration with 3par, I've seen the announcement on the web at last Discover and I'm courious, anyone of you are getting some early access to the program?
I'm al little worried about SP-->Vcenter connection...

If your on SP 5.0.2 and 3.3.1 or later for the arrays the sensors should be present. There is a beta site out there to view the work in progress version if your already up on code releases.

I've just registered my 3Par and StoreOnce, so I'll let you know once I see them show up.

Thanks for the link.

Andrew.

Certainly for 3.2.2 based arrays this is just the old storefront remote webpages with added tabs for nimble and VMware. The VMware tabs only work if on 3.3.1/sp502 and installed the plugins to VMware I guess.

Maybe 3.3.1 users will get some extra categories under the 3PAR tab? :)

I've added the registration details in for my 3par and Storeonce. Just waiting for them to appear. It suggests 24 to 48 hours. Not sure why it should need to take that long, or if there is a cheat to force it quicker.

Plugins for VMWare? How?

Andrew.

The VMvision plugin isn't really a plugin, basically you register vCentre with the Service Processor which then collects the VMware metrics and passes them back along with 3PAR telemetry for processing by InfoSight.

You have to wait until SP 5 MU2 is out.

Hi all,

Ok.. The our 3Par registered this morning.
Pretty basic.. Mostly all you get is the Dashboard you get in the Console, except there is a Wellness type and score..

There are some alerting capabilities and you can create a PDF of the Dashboard.

Otherwise, there isn't a whole lot at the moment which would have me visit until more features are added.
Still waiting for the StoreOnce to show up..

I hear you on VMWare being included in the MU2 release for the SP.

Has anyone heard any rumblings when MU2 is even estimated in coming out?

Andrew.

Hi all,

Actually I take that back..

Under Infrastructure, there is a pull down menu with a bunch of stuff in it..

Correlated System History Tab, which has graphed:

Service time, Bandwidth, Alert Timeline and Software History Chart

Status History Tab, which graphs the Wellness score with the status types in a table below it.

Status Details Tab, which has a bunch of stuff:

CPU Utilisation Trend and a evaluation as to whether it is acceptable or not.
Storage Capacity Trend by Tier Graph and whether it is likely to run out of space within a year.
Disk Count Balance by Node Pair Graph and Trend Graph and whether the SSD disk count is balanced between the node pairs.
Used Capacity Balance by Node Pair Graph and Trend Graph and whether the SSD used capacity is balanced between the node pairs.
Storage Capacity Balanced by Node Pair Graph and Trend Graph, and whether this is balanced.

Alert History Tab, Graphed and then tabled.

Case History Tab, Graphs and tables Case history (this is pretty nice actually)

Configuration History Tab, Shows Version and Patch history Graphed by date.

System Front-End performance Trend Tab, Graphs:

IOPS, Service Time, Bandwidth, IO Size and Queue length (separate graphs each)

Advanced Performance History opens a different page complete, but graphs:

Average Write Bandwidth, Average Read Bandwidth, Average Service Time, Average Read Service Time, Average % of Writes Resulting in DelAcks, Average Max VV Write Service Time, and Average Max VV Read Service Time.

License Tab, Table of licenses

VM Details Tab, Which is grey out for me

Physical Disk Details Tab, Table of Disks with a bunch of info.

File Persona Tab, No details for me as we don't use it.

Map Tab, Which shows a Map of the system.

As quick an overview as I could give.. I'm sure there will be docs released soon for it, along with a bunch of new features as the 3par guys get to play with the data that starts being generated a bit more.

Andrew.
