Hi, Here's my situation, I've a 8200 with 1 LFF enclosure. The storage now is configure using raid6 CPG. I'm planning to add another LFF enclosure with 24 disk. Could I create a new CPG for the new LFF disk enclosure? |

No Add the Disks with admithw. If Tunesys did not start automatic (depend on OS Version), start Tunesys. Thats all. No Need to add Disks to CPG or create a new One. |

Maintenance Mode suppress E-Mails and HPE is notifyed that you are doing something. So they did not Call back you for error messages. No change on the Array itself. So the answer is: Yes it is better, but nothing serios is happend if not. |

+1, there is no requirement to create new CPGs when you add Physical disk enclosures, in fact it is recommended not to. A CPG is simply a logical rule set that will apply to any available disks of the specified type, and the more the merrier. If you run tunesys it will run a back end process that will re-stripe your current data evenly to all applicable HDDs. That said, if you are running NL drives in R6 I would run tunesys at a period of low activity. |
