Anyone Else have Problems after P87?

It add Security, but after aplying "admithw" it did no longer run successful.
Test it on a Second 3PAR, is Same.
Open a Case, but they have on Idea.
HPE say there Test is OK, but I think they dont use User 3Paradm.

Starting in SPOCC as Command:
admithw : Permission denied

Starting in SSH:
3PAR04 cli% admithw
Checking nodes...
....
Checking if the rights assigned to extended roles need to be updated...
Permission denied

I've never experienced something like this before but I guess it's always possible that something could have happened to the user account or possibly even the ACL. The test both you could try this.

Create a new user and grant it the "super" role. "createuser <username> all super"

SSH into the array with that account and try to run admithw, if it works then the 3paradm account has an issue, if it still fails modify the account and grant it the "service" role.

Close your SSH session and log back in using 3paradm then type in

"removeuser <username>"
"createuser <username> all service"
SSH back into the array as the user and run admithw again. If it still fails then I'm at a loss.

Don't forget to delete the account when you are finished. :)

I was deploying P80 and P85 on my TEST array today and I wasn't planning on applying P87 because I am not experiencing the issue as described in the release notes but because I was curious I downloaded it and installed it.

cli% showversion -a -b
Release version 3.2.2.612 (MU4)
Patches: P56,P58,P59,P60,P73,P80,P85,P87

cli% starttask admithw -ni
Started "admithw -ni" as Task 12411
cli% showtask -d 12411
...
2017-08-19 12:47:11 EDT Updated Checking if system scheduled tasks need to be created...
2017-08-19 12:47:11 EDT Updated
2017-08-19 12:47:11 EDT Updated Checking if the rights assigned to extended roles need to be updated...
2017-08-19 12:47:11 EDT Error Permission denied
2017-08-19 12:47:11 EDT Error Task exited with status 1
2017-08-19 12:47:11 EDT Failed Could not complete task.

I am now also having the same issue as you so it is definitely a patch issue! :) So I created a new user p87test with the super role and

cli% createuser p87test all super
Password for user p87test:
Retype password for user p87test:
User created

Same result as above, so I repeated with create the user as "service" and it also failed. What's interesting is that if you just run "admithw -ni" it completes, it just fails when trying to run it as a task. See if you are able to run it normally and if you are get a hold of HPE and have them focus on running this as a task as it fails when "checking if the rights assigned to extended roles need to be updated".

Here are my results when running it manually and NOT as a task.:

cli% admithw -ni

Patch 92 for 3.2.2 MU4 just came out, which obsoletes Patch 87.

Has anyone tried it? And does it solve the Patch 87 issue mentioned here?
