Hello,

A customer who I started working with has a HP 3PAR 7200 but unfortunately forgot 3paradm's
password! I want to know how can I reset StorServ's admin account.

Thank you

If you know the service processor credentials, such as 3parcust, you can backdoor into the Inserv using the service processor. The SP connects to the Inserv with a certificate for the 3parsvc user account, and will use that credential when you run cli commands from the SP.

I don't believe you will be able to use the web interface though, my assumption is that the CLI commands are not interactive, you give a command, it runs it, and displays the output in html. The setpassword command requires interaction... so use ssh instead to connect to the service processor and start an interactive CLI with the Inserv to run setpassword.

Hi Richard!

Thanks for your reply!

You mean that I should make a SSH connection to VSP , login with 3parcust and then run setpassword to change password of 3paradm?

That is exactly what I mean.

Hi!

As you instructed I tried to execute setpassword command through VSP but
it seems that the command times out. What I think is the prompt is waiting
to enter the password but it does not appear on SPOCC screen. I could easily
execute other commands like %showsys and etc.

I entered "setpassword -u 3paradm"

Do you have any idea how to solve the problem?

Thank you

Finally I found the solution!

Instead of reseting 3paradm password, I created a user with Super role, logged in through IMC and
then reset 3paradm password. I ran the following command in command execution part of SPOCC:

%createuser -c {PASSWORD} {USER} all super

Thank you Richard for giving me the idea of executing command through VSP.

What am I doing wrong? I get a createuser : Permission denied when I try to do this. I have logged in with both 3parcust and 3parvar and both get permission denied when trying to run the createuser command.
