Hello,
Is it normal for the default cpg for a vv to change after AO is run?
Our situation: We have a two tier AO configured in Performance mode with Tier 0 SSD and Tier 1 FC. We have two corresponding cpg's set up, AO_FC_r5_Performance and AO_SSD_r5_Performance. We have three, fully provisioned volumes that were set up initially with the default cpg being AO_FC_r5_Performance. However, after AO ran the default cpg for each vv changed to AO_SSD_r5_Performance.
Model: 3PAR_7200 HP 3PAR OS version 3.2.1.426 (MU5)
After a recent OS update, we did a tunevv usr_cpg <CPG> <VV_name> and set the vv's to FC to see if the update would keep the default cpg from changning.
After the tunevv was completed:
cli% showcpg -d AO_FC_r5_Performance ----------------(MB)----------------- ----Volumes---- -Usage- ----- Usr ----- -- Snp --- -- Adm --- --- LD ---- - RC_Usage - Id Name Warn% VVs TPVVs TDVVs Usr Snp Total Used Total Used Total Used Usr Snp Adm Usr Snp 11 AO_FC_r5_Performance - 3 0 0 3 0 6294528 6291456 0 0 0 0 18 0 0 0 0 -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 1 total 3 0 6294528 6291456 0 0 0 0 18 0 0 0 0

Then, after AO ran:
cli% showcpg -d AO_FC_r5_Performance ----------------(MB)----------------- ----Volumes---- -Usage- ----- Usr ----- -- Snp --- -- Adm --- --- LD ---- - RC_Usage - Id Name Warn% VVs TPVVs TDVVs Usr Snp Total Used Total Used Total Used Usr Snp Adm Usr Snp 11 AO_FC_r5_Performance - 0 0 0 0 0 6294528 5863936 0 0 0 0 18 0 0 0 0 -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 1 total 0 0 6294528 5863936 0 0 0 0 18 0 0 0 0

According to HPE, the system is working as designed. Should the default cpg be changing? Is keeping the default cpg as SSD okay? We have a 3PAR 8400 with a newer OS set up in a similar configuration and have not had he default cpgs change after AO runs.
Thanks.
