Post subject:  3PAR InSplore (logs) Analyzer

Hello,

I am working on an on-line application to analyse InSplores.

The idea here is to take the most from the InSplore file (2000+ individual log files) in order to give an image of the InServ at a given point in time.

The application detects installation errors, many hardware failures, disks imbalance, nodes imbalance, CPGs that needs tuning, SCSI errors, ports CRC errors... etc. The space usage is represented down to the disk level and arranged in order to make it obvious when there is an imbalance in any cage, dmag or tier.

If a tool like this can be of any interest for you, I can create an account for you so you can use it when you wish. In return, I would just ask you for feedbacks, ideas and comments so the next release will be richer :) ANYTHING you may think about can be coded in the Analyser and results provided in the final report.

I am posting the user guide here: http://www.3QG.com The latest version I am working on is the 0.999 Alpha. Next one will be 1.0 BETA but limited number of accounts is already available.

This is a personal project provided for free but without any warranty. It is not provided or endorsed by 3PAR or HP.

Thank you

I would like to partake in this beta!

Orphaned LDs might be a good thing to look for as well if you are not already. LDs that exist, but no longer belong to a CPG. This may only be a 2.24 and older issue though.

Hi,

Thank you :)

I will create an account for you then.

2.2.4 is not supported. The InSplore format for 2.2.4 is too different. Files have different layout and many are just not present there.

Currently, 2.3.1 and 3.1.1 are supported with any system type (tested: F, S, T and V from 2 to 8 nodes)

Oh, thank you Richard.

The hostname was wrong so Apache crashed and the cron I have in place couldn't restart it. It's all fixed now :)
