Hi, just looking for some info. I have a VV that has been exported to a Win2012 server and is live. If I want to grow the VV by 100gb do I need to un-export it, grow, then re-export, or can I just grow it and then go into the machine and reconfigure to server to see the disk in its larger size?

Please take into account two details:

1) you are not growing TO the denoted size in the cli-command, but you are growing FOR that size.
2) if your vvs are mirrored, it is sufficient to grow one of the two vvs (After stopping mirroring). The other one will be grown automatically.

We learned that from trying to grow VMware-VVs from 4 to 8 TB and ended up with a synchronous mirrored pair of 20TB-vvs... :?

Interesting, Did they change the 16TB volume limit now?

Of course they didn't, I apparently remembered some numbers wrong. The biggest vvs we actually use are 12TB, so it must have been something in that range.

That, however, does not change the fact that this is a small but important difference to, let's say, EMC Navisphere, where you denote the new total capacity when growing luns. And growing the "partner-vv" in a rc-relationship automatically is smart, no question - when the admin creating cli-scripts takes it into account...
