Hello to all.
First of all, I'm new to 3Par.

I've got a new 1-node 7200 populated with 12 900GB SAS 10K and 12 300GB SAS 15K drives.

I would like to setup 2 RAID5 CPG, splitting the 15k from 10k drives.
I have deleted the CPG created during the storage initialization.
Now, when I try to setup a RAID5 CPG it's telling me that there is not enough space on the system (this is the first CPG I'm trying to create).

So, what's wrong?
I' have to do some procedure for space reclamation?
Thanks for the help.

A couple of things could be wrong, the most likely is you have selected CAGE level availability as part of the CPG policy (under advanced options) If you only have a single cage (disk chassis) this isn't possible so you should select MAG.

Also it could be the stripe size you are selecting for the raid type, with raid 5 and 12 disks then max stripe size would be 5+1. e.g (2 nodes x (5+1)) = 12 drives.

If you need to separate the disks into different CPG's then you'll need to filter the CPG by RPM speed e.g 10K / 15K RPM.

Thanks for the reply.

The problem was the "level availability" in the CPG policy. Selecting "magazine", space is available. :)

Thank you.
