Sicne SR uses Apache the only way to control access is via apache. We have protected the tabs/pages that allow users to make changes with a id/password. I believe it is mentioned in the SR manual somewhere. With SR moving to the new console I am curious to see how thy manage this. I am very disappointed in the move to a console based reporting system as we published our reports in SR and allowed the general app community to view them via their web browser. The move to a "console" product defeats this purpose. |

We do the same with controlling access to the config modifyable tabs by using an .htaccess file. As mentioned, the setup is in the guide, or you can just Google .htaccess file. We still use System Reporter though to pull and produce reports even though we have moved to 3.1.2 with the performance reports on the SP. I haven't heard they are doing away with the external system reporter - have you? I hope not because pulling data out of the mysql DB is very handy. |
