Hi Guys.

1)I have created the new VV in HP 3PAR.could you please let me know how to add the new VV in HP 3PAR CLX. I am not sure about it. I think no need to add it.

2) I have confusion here between traditionl replication and HP 3par CLX
like in traditional replication, if I am adding any disk to volume group at primary site then i will craete the replication set for that LUN like paircreate . Here in 3par we are expanding the vv then how clx know that.
My understanding:
As per my understanding its working like vg lv concept. Like will craete the one VG of 1000GB using 2disk having capacity 500GB each. Now i have created the LV of 5o GB and I will be in a position to extend any time upto 1000 GB as per requirement.

Same thing we can co-relate to 3PAR or any storage virtualization. Will create the CPG from that we will create the VV, we can extend vv any time as per requirement

OS level 3par
VG CPG
LV VV

Then will create the vvGroup set and that VVGorup set will register in 3par CLX.
Could you please let me know is my understanding correct.

Thanks!!
Waugh

CLX needs the following:
Arrays IP address, account and password with sufficient credentiels to work with Remote Copy Groups (super user will do that)
Once your VV is create, create another one on the second array, then add them in the Remote Copy Group.
Then you need to export VV on array 1 to host 1 and on array 2 to host 2.

But first of all, you need a MSCS cluster, 2003 or higher.

If your array got Inform OS 3.2.1 MU1 or higher, forget CLX, buy Peer Persistence license. But you need MSCS 2008 or higher.
