Why type of 3PAR system is this ?
What was the model of the orginal drive (showpd -i PD_ID_of_failed_drive)
Do you know the HPe partnumber for the new drive
Is the drive a genuine HPe drive ?

Seems like 3PAR OS does not support the new you have inserted.

Your new disk is not supported to current FW.

I would give a call to support they can check that also for you and advise if a OS upgrade is needed to support this new replacement disk. I think there are some patches needed here to support the disk.

Hi,

Sorry for a delayed reply.
Have been a few days away.

I am out of options, I would suggest to call HPe Support if you still have a support contract (guess not). The drive you used to replace the original is the same model.
If it was a different type, I could have verified for you if you had to install an InFormOS patch, to support the drive. But that is not the case.

If this is all "grey market" 3rd party stuff (eBay?) and you have NO support contracts with HPe or a 3rd party... physically compare the old the drive to the new drive... pay SPECIAL attention to jumpers physically on the drive itself and make sure everything is identical.
